When a group of programists from Sofia decided to make an outdoor trip to the mountain and wanted to touch and work with earth, without necessarily go deep in the ecobuilding practice, I found it funny to propose to them to realize the most primitive earth breadoven – directly on the ground and with locally available materials. In the past these ovens were called fieldovens because they were built in the fields for temporary use. After having watched the movie of Jas Townsend, we followed his recommendations. In one day we built a midsized oven which was completely dry the next day and we used it for baking fantastc crispy pizzas.
